Vanchain Rope (“we”, “us”) is a sales brokerage for rope access, fall protection and rescue equipment based in Vancouver, British Columbia (BC Companies Registration No. BC1543717). This page explains what personal information we collect through vanchainrope.ca, why, and what choices you have. We handle personal information in line with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal PIPEDA.
What we collect
When you send a quote request we collect what you type into the form: your name, company, email address, phone number (optional), primary application, the details of what you need, and whether you want to hear about training. If you email or message us directly, we keep that correspondence.
Like any website, our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers on this site at the time of writing.
Why we collect it
- To reply to your request, prepare a quote and follow up about it.
- To arrange training information through our partner technician, only if you ask for it.
- To keep records of our business dealings and meet legal obligations.
- To keep the site secure and working. The form includes a hidden spam trap for this reason.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for anything unrelated to your request.
Who handles it
Quote requests are received through Netlify Forms, a service of Netlify, Inc., which also hosts this site. Netlify stores the submission and sends it to our mailbox. Our email is provided by IONOS. These providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, and process it for us under their own terms. Fonts on this site load from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
Links to Telegram, Calendly and other sites take you to services we do not control. Their privacy practices apply once you leave this site.
We share personal information with a supplier or training partner only when it is needed to answer your request, and we tell you first. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and related correspondence for as long as we need them to deal with your request and keep our business records, and then delete or anonymise them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Your choices
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to us contacting you. Email hussey@vanchainrope.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and submissions go through our hosting provider’s form service to a password-protected mailbox. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information such as financial or government ID numbers in a quote request.
Changes
If we add tools such as advertising pixels or analytics, we will update this page before we start using them. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
